BCAF Annual General Meeting 2009

Burngreave Community Action Forum held their Annual General Meeting on Saturday 7th March 2009, from 12-3pm at the Burngreave Vestry Hall.

In light of the economic climate and recent developments, the meeting was focussed on bringing together local community organisations to explore how we can work together to ensure that the many positive achievements in the area can be sustained.

To this end, there were two main elements to the meeting, in addition to the election of the Coordinating Committee and BCAF Annual Report.

BCAF AGM 2009
  • Ann Allen, Executive Manager of Burngreave New Deal for Communities, spoke about the recent decision to end funding of BNDfC projects, in some cases 2 years earlier than planned. She then answered questions from attendees. A detailed description of the questions and her answers will be posted here shortly.

  • Steve Gayle, Development Manager of Burngreave Community Action Forum, gave a presentation on the new Community Assemblies arrangements that will replace the Area Panel in the area as the key method of consultation with residents from Sheffield City Council. There then followed a lively debate on the relative merits of the new arrangements as compared to the previous set-up. A copy of Steve's presentation is available to download below.

More information and feedback from the AGM will be added to this page over the next few weeks. Please see below for a selection of the best photos from the event:
